Working with our community to

keep pets safe and healthy.

OUR MISSION

“The mission of Safe Pet Project is to build a more humane community for domesticated animals by providing services to keep them safe and healthy. “

OUR PURPOSE

From dogs to donkeys, from cats to cows, the Safe Pet Project was created to promote health, safety, and security for all domesticated animals by providing services and resources to animal owners in our community.

In December of 2022 Safe Pet Project was approved and licensed as animal shelter under the Georgia Department of Agriculture. This license allows Safe Pet Project to offer the community both a shelter for dogs and cats and also a foster program. The organization’s overall focus is to provide education, information, resources, and services to animal owners to assist them with the various challenges of pet/animal ownership. In addition, we aim to collaborate with other like-minded organizations, whose visions match ours of creating a better world for all domesticated animals.

We feel that all animals deserve to be treated with respect, compassion and love, and the Safe Pet Project is dedicated to that mission.

OUR PROGRAMS

OUR TEAM

The Safe Pet Project team is made up of individuals with many years of experience in animal advocacy and rescue. Our shared passion for the safety and welfare of all animals is the thread that binds us together. We believe our commitment to improving the lives of animals in our own community is the starting point for our mission. Safe Pet Project hopes to broaden our reach by working in tandem with other local animal welfare groups to be able to offer more extensive services to pets and the people who care for them.

SAFE PET PROJECT THRIFT STORE

The Safe Pet Project’s volunteer-driven thrift store is a unique and different concept of a traditional thrift store.  Shoppers have labeled it “a store that feels and looks like an upscale boutique but with reasonable prices”.

We appreciate the community’s ongoing support by shopping with us and donating gently used clothes, household items and furniture in very good condition.
